Description

Vintage Tinplate Wind-Up Mechanical Walking Spaceman, Yoneya (SY), Japan. A nice vintage tinplate clockwork Walking Spaceman with nicely lithographed grey body, red, yellow, silver and blue detail, red tinplate feet, built-in key and brake lever in chest, made by the Yoneya (SY) Co. of Japan in the 1960’s. The Spaceman measures 7.75 inches tall by 3.25 inches wide, and has a forward walking action with swinging arms. It is in very good used condition with some playwear, scratches and marks and the wind-up mechanism works ok when wound using the built-in key, moving the robot forward, a little unsteady at times and the arms only swing a little. The brake lever in the chest plate also works and the robot is marked with the Yoneya “S.Y” in a diamond Trade Mark and “Made in Japan” on the lower body panel, on the opposite side to the built-in key. A nice vintage clockwork toy in good used condition, and a great addition to a robot or space collection. Please see my other vintage items listed.
